Ready to fulfill your dreams of becoming a Firefighter/Paramedic?  We're looking for like-minded individuals who identify with our ideals and can carry out our mission statement in each and every interaction with citizens of our great community.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • Must possess a high school diploma or
    GED-HSEC equivalent

  • Must possess, or able to obtain by date of hire, a Wisconsin driver's license

  • Must have no disqualifying felony criminal convictions during your lifetime or other disqualifying criminal history within the past seven years. 

  • Must be a US citizen by date of hire

  • Must possess a valid CPAT dates within 1 year at the time of conditional job offer and/or completion of the Stevens Point Fire Department Academy

  • Must possess National Incident Management System (NIMS) Incident Command System (ICS) 700 and 100 Certifications

Must possess one of the following:​

  1. Nationally Registered EMT-Paramedic, State of Wisconsin licensed EMT- Paramedic, and Firefighter I Certification (WTCS Board or IFSAC Accredited) with the ability to complete Firefighter II Certification (WTCS Board or IFSAC Accredited) within 1 year of date of hire 

      OR

  1. Firefighter I Certification (WTCS Board or IFSAC Accredited) with the ability to complete Firefighter II Certification (WTCS Board or IFSAC Accredited), Nationally Registered EMT-Paramedic, and State of Wisconsin licensed EMT- Paramedic within 1 year of date of hire.
