Minimum Requirements
RECRUIT FIREFIGHTER:

At time of application candidate must be 18 years of age.

At time of appointment candidate must be a minimum of 21 years of age and have not reached the age of 40.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).

Possess and maintain a valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Must complete all components of the application and assessment phase (Online Exam, Online Interview, Aerial Climb, Candidate Physical Abilities Test)

Complete comprehensive pre-employment background and character check, Criminal History Review, medical evaluations, Drug Screens, psychological evaluation in accordance with the INPRS policy.
LATERAL FIREFIGHTER:
In addition to the requirements listed for Recruit Firefighter, Lateral Applicants must:

Minimum of 2 years of career firefighting experience in a municipal fire department.

Valid Driver's License

Shall be a member of the Indiana Pension 77 Fund or be eligible for entry into the Indiana Pension 77 Fund.

Indiana or IFSAC Firefighter II Certification
-
Indiana or NREMT-Basic Certification
-
Indiana or IFSAC Hazardous Materials Operations Certification.
