Ready to fulfill your dreams of becoming a Firefighter?  We're looking for like minded individuals who identifies with our ideals and can carry out our mission statement in each and every interaction with citizens of our great community. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Between the ages of 18 and 35, not having reached your 36th birthday by date of hire (July 6, 2026)

  • High school diploma or GED by date of hire (July 6, 2026)

  • Texas driver’s license or the ability to obtain one within 3 months of date of hire

  • Background check with no felonies

  • Structural Firefighting certification from TCFP or IFSAC Seals in FF I, FF II, Hazmat Awareness and Hazmat Ops, or able to obtain either prior to the start date (July 6, 2026) 

  • State of Texas EMT basic or National Registry EMT or able to obtain either prior to the start date (July 6, 2026)

2-Step Process

Step 1: Apply with the City of Midland
by April 24, 2026 - 8:00 pm (MANDATORY)

Step 2: Test with Public Safety Answers by April 24, 2026 - 8:00pm (MANDATORY)

$50 Testing Fee

Interviews: Week of June 1 - 5, 2026
Certified Candidates will be required to complete a physical agility exam May 2, 2026.
