Minimum Requirements

Must possess a valid Driver's License

Must possess an Emergency Medical Technician, Advanced EMT, or Paramedic license

High School diploma or GED equivalent

At least 18 years of age

Must possess and maintain a State of Idaho Emergency Medical Technician, Advanced EMT, or Paramedic license or have the ability to obtain State of Idaho Basic Emergency Medical Technician License required within 12 months of hire?

Department will pay half of testing fee for first 200 applicants
All applicants must complete the mandatory Firefighter Physical Fitness Test (FPFT) that will be administered by the City of Meridian Fire Department between May 26, 2026 and May 29, 2026.
Failure to successfully complete the PFPT will result in disqualification.
Candidates who successfully pass the PFPT will move on to
in-person interviews.
