Ready to fulfill your dreams of becoming a firefighter?  We're looking for like minded individuals who identify with our ideals and can carry out our mission statement in each and every interaction with citizens of our great community. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must possess Firefighter 1 & 2 Certifications

  • Must possess an EMT-B Certification   (Paramedic certification required within 2 years of hire. Department will train.)​

  • Must be between 18 and 39 years of age

  • Must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Must possess a valid Indiana CPAT card by time of conditional offer (Not required for lateral firefighter)

2 Step Application Process

Step 1: Apply with City of Hobart by:
April 10, 2024 - 11:59 pm EST 
(Mandatory)

Completed applications can be sent to: HR@cityofhobart.org OR
dropped off at City Hall, 414 Main Street, Hobart, IN 46342

Step 2: Complete Testing and Video Interview with Public Safety Answers by: April 15, 2024 - 11:59 pm EST
