Minimum Qualifications

Must have a high school diploma or GED

Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of application​

Must possess valid driver's license at time of application
​​

Current Arizona State Certified Emergency Medical Care Technician (EMCT) or Paramedic

If from out of state, must have an active National Registered Emergency Medical Technician or Paramedic Certification and obtain AZ EMCT or Paramedic Certification through the reciprocity process before official hire date or applicant will be disqualified (must upload proof of active NREMT cert with application)

CPAT within the last year (Mar 23, 2025 – Mar 23, 2026)

If you are currently employed as a full-time firefighter for a Phoenix Automatic-Aid consortium fire department, and you attended a regionally accredited training academy, you do not need a CPAT test
