Minimum Qualifications

​Must hold a high school diploma or GED

Must be a U.S. citizen
-
Be at least 21 years old and not older than 40 at the time of appointment (unless enrolled in the 1977 Police & Fire Pension)
-
Possess a valid Indiana driver’s license (or obtain within 60 days of residency) and the ability to be insured to drive a city vehicle is required.

No felony convictions and no misdemeanor domestic violence convictions
-
Must not have been dishonorably discharged from the military
-
Must meet department substance use standards.

Valid CPAT certification by the time a position is offered.
