Minimum Requirements

Must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent

Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record and insurable under the City's carrier

Firefighter I & II certifications
-
State of Idaho or NREMT EMT or Paramedic certification or the ability to obtain within 90 days of a job offer

Must be currently employed as a career firefighter with a minimum of 24 months continuous service
Compensation/Benefits

Starting Pay: $79,876.16 – $83,720.00*

Paramedic Incentive: Eligible paramedics may receive a one-time sign-on bonus of up to $3,000.00 and an additional $1.25 per hour paramedic incentive pay.

The City of Caldwell and the Caldwell Professional Firefighters are currently negotiating a successor labor agreement that is anticipated to take effect in October 2026. Compensation rates may be adjusted based on the final negotiated agreement.
