Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
-
Graduation from a standard high school or its equivalent.

Holds a valid State of Florida Firefighter Certificate (must be certified at the time of application submission).

Possess a valid State of Florida Paramedic Certification.

Valid State of Florida Class "E" Driver’s License at the time of application
-
Possess all valid certifications necessary to perform as a Paramedic within the City of Oakland Park which includes certification or successful completion of:
-
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
-
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
-
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Pediatric Education for Prehospital Providers (PEPP)
-
Emergency Vehicle Operators Course (EVOC)

Candidate Physical Ability Test card/certification (issued within 12 months of the date of job posting)

The City will waive physical ability test certification from candidates currently employed as a State of Florida Firefighter and State of Florida Paramedic.

The City will consider the acceptance of a physical ability test certification from any State of Florida certified firefighter training center within one year of the date of application for employment known as:
-
Candidate Physical Ability Test – CPAT or Physical Ability Test – PAT.
