Minimum Qualifications

Must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent; or an equivalent combination of education and experience in accordance with the City's Civil Service

Basic Firefighter with Paramedic certification or be enrolled in a Paramedic course. Candidate must be within 3 months of eligibility to test for Paramedic certification with the State of Texas or National Registry. Selected candidates must have Paramedic certification within 6 months of hire.

Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License

Must complete testing with Public Safety Answers by
July 1, 2026 - 8:00 am CT
** TO ALL VETERANS:
You may be eligible for five (5) veterans' bonus points to be added to a passing score. To qualify for the bonus points you must upload a copy of your DD214 or NGB22 or other documentation proving your veteran status at time of testing. You must also have an honorable discharge or current enlistment and check the veteran box on the minimum/optimal requirements page.
